When are the check-out and check-in times?

Check-in is at 3pm. Check-out is at 11am. Due to the limited parking on the beach, we cannot early check-ins or late check-outs except in certain circumstances.

Do I need to be a certain age to check in?

Yes! The lead guest must be 21 years or older to check-in.

Is there a facilities fee and what does it include?

From June through August, there is a $15 per night per room facilities fee included in your room rate.  It covers complimentary beach chair, umbrella, and towel borrowing, access to an outdoor rinse-off shower, and complimentary coffee at our sister spot The Nevada. You also get half off yoga at The Viewpoint and $15 off surf lessons at Long Sands Surf School.

Do you have parking?

Our parking is exclusively for hotel guests, with one (1)  spot available per room. We can't usually accommodate extra vehicles due to limited space. An EV charger is available on a first-come basis. For parking, pull into any coned spot — they're reserved for arriving guests! — and place the cone behind your vehicle after parking.

Is there a deposit required for booking?

Accepted Answer

Yes! One night's stay is due at booking to confirm your reservation. Stays of 7+ nights require a deposit equal to half the total stay. The remaining balance is due at check-in. For non-refundable pre-pay rates, the entire amount of your stay is due at the time of booking.

What is the cancellation policy?

30 days or more ahead of time: Full refund of deposit
14-29 days ahead of time: Refund of deposit minus a $25 cancellation fee
Less than 14 days: Deposit is non-refundable
Non-refundable pre-pay rates: These rates are non-cancellable, non-refundable, and non-transferable.

Please cancel with the party or website you booked through. If you booked directly through our website (recommended for the best rates and experience), you can call us or email us to cancel or modify your reservation, depending on the terms of your rate.

Are pets allowed?

Sorry, we're a completely pet-free property — pets are not allowed inside or on the grounds. Service animals (as defined by the Americans With Disabilities Act) are welcome. Emotional support animals are not covered under ADA guidelines.

Is the property smoke-free?

Accepted Answer

Yes! There is no smoking of any kind in rooms, on balconies or decks, or anywhere except the designated smoking area which is in the back parking lot. If you are found to have smoked in your room, a minimum cleaning fee of $500 will be charged to the card on file.

Is there an elevator?

Stones Throw is mostly a step-access property. If you need elevator access, check out our sister hotel The Nevada, just 300 feet away — where there is elevator access to all floors and multiple ADA-accessible rooms.

What are front desk hours?

Stones Throw is a mostly contactless check-in property with limited front desk hours — but don't worry! The Nevada's front desk (literally just 300 feet away!) is open daily and can help with anything you need. Plus, our touchscreen check-in kiosk is super easy to use.  For urgent after-hours issues, call us and dial extension 9.

Do you offer contactless check-in?

Absolutely. It's super easy — we even tested it on our 76-year-old grandmother who doesn't like technology, and she loved it! Our contactless, touchscreen check-in kiosk is clearly marked and located just beside the parking lot. Book directly on our site and get a complimentary glass of prosecco at check-in from The Nevada's front desk.

Can I modify my reservation?

For our base rates, the reservation can be modified up to 30 days prior to check-in with no cancellation or modification fees. Our standard cancellation policy applies to any modifications. For our non-refundable pre-pay rates, which are always 10 percent lower than our normal rates, the reservation cannot be modified. It is non-cancelable and non-refundable. However, you may add nights to your existing reservation.

Do you offer hotel gift cards?

Yes! Our hotel gift cards only work at the location they are purchased for. To purchase a gift card, visit cranehotelgroup.com/gift to see all of the gift cards we have available.

Can someone else check-in for my hotel room reservation?

Accepted Answer

If you wish to allow someone whose name is not listed on the reservation to check into the room prior to your arrival, please notifiy us prior to the day of arrival. The person added to the reservation must be at least 21 years of age or older.

What the difference between the beach club building and the main building?

Accepted Answer

The key difference is the size and view. Our Main Building rooms are a bit larger and are located directly on Long Sands Beach, meaning you can see the ocean from your bed and have direct balconies onto the ocean. Our Beach Club building is adjacent to Long Sands Beach, meaning you have an inward facing view. However, you still have a balcony.

Do your rooms have balconies?

All rooms have a balcony that is dedicated only for the guests staying in that room, with at least two chairs. Our Main Building rooms have private balconies that are directly on the ocean-side of the property, facing Long Sands Beach, while our Beach Club Building rooms have inward-facing decks which other guests may walk through to access their rooms.

What toiletries are provided in each hotel room?

While we do not have a pool on the Stones Throw property, a limited amount of pool passes are available on a daily basis for the pool at our sister property — The Viewpoint. You can purchase a pool pass here.

Do you have a sauna, steam room, or hot tub?

While we don't have a sauna, steam room, or hot tub on the Stones Throw property, you may book a spa treatment at our sister property The Viewpoint and add access to The Baths (sauna + hot tub) to your visit. Just be sure to arrange this ahead of time!

Do you have a spa?

While we do not have a spa immediately on the Stones Throw property, there is a spa at our sister property 1.5 miles away (5 minute drive with free parking or 30 minute walk). The Spa House by The Viewpoint offers massage, facials, foot soaks, waxing, and more with five-star rated providers using organic products. Book your spa treatment now — they book up fast!

Do you have cribs or pack n' plays for infants/toddlers?

We do not offer cribs, pack n' plays, or other infant/toddler materials in-house. However, you're more than welcome to rent this equipment from BabyQuip ahead of time!

Which rooms are ADA or handicapped accessible?

Stones Throw is an older property, and none of our rooms are ADA or handicapped accessible. However, our sister property The Nevada is just 300 feet away with two ADA-accessible rooms and elevator access to all floors.

Do you have parking for trucks, SUVs or oversized vehicles?

Parking at the beach is limited. If you have a truck, SUV, or other oversized vehicle, please let us know ahead of time so we can ensue you have a big enough space reserved for you.

Do you have breakfast?

Our on-property restaurant Stones Throw does not offer breakfast, but we do have brunch specials on the weekends (opening at 11:30AM).

During the high-season, our sister restaurant Lulu's (300 feet away at The Nevada) offers breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 8AM. Also during the high-season, our sister restaurant A Little Auk (1.5 miles way — 5 minute drive with free parking or 30 minute walk) offers breakfast every day except Saturdays starting at 8AM.

Do your rooms have ocean views?

All of the rooms in our Main Building have direct ocean views of Long Sands Beach. The rooms in our Beach Club Building are adjacent to the ocean, with some partial ocean views from the balconies.

Do children, infants, or toddlers count towards your hotel room occupancy?

Accepted Answer

There is a maximum occupancy of two people per bed for all rooms. Small infants and toddlers up to 4 years of age do not count toward this maximum occupancy. However, we do not have rollaway beds or cots to accommodate them.
